Wooden Cuban yoyo fishing reel. New version! These hand caster reels are handmade, custom and turned on a lathe. They are smooth in the hand and make for effective casting, drifting and trolling.

• Choose from a variety of woods, i.e., ash, maple, cypress, white oak and southern yellow pine.
• Waterproofed with boat building epoxy.
• Spar varnish makes it UV resistant and easy on the hands.
• Now offered in either standard or high capacity line storage.

For those of you who are considering the Handliner’s Handbook class, this reel replaced the Caster & Troller models listed on the sales page of that class. I found a way taper the arbor flange to make the reel equally suited for both casting, trolling and drift fishing.

REEL SIZE | LINE CAPACITY

• The standard line capacity is a single piece, single wide reel that can generally hold up to 250 to 500 yards of monofilament line.
• The high line capacity reel is a two-piece reel that effectively doubles line capacity.
• NOTE: southern yellow pine only comes in a two-piece high capacity version.

NOTE: SPECIAL ORDER! Expect three weeks to ship. Each one of these is made one at a time by hand. This is not a big box, mass produced item. If you don’t want to wait, please buy a plastic one from Amazon. If you want a reel that will last a lifetime, it’s going to take time.
